Old Robeson Pocketeze Found

Hi. I am new to this forum and I’m hoping someone here could give me a little more info on an old Robeson knife I found. It had rained recently so yesterday I decided to take my wife and niece along with our dog out to a place in the country near us to spend the evening playing in the creek. We were walking down the creek and I happen to see a rusted chunk half buried in the sand/creek bed. Picked it up and realized it was an old pocket knife. It had a huge buildup of rust looking like a a year live rather than a knife. After getting it home, I started working on it trying to remove some of the rest to figure out what it was until finally being able to make out a few letters that gave me a clue.

I would call myself a moderate level knife guy however I dont know much about Robeson knives. I’ve heard of them as well as the pocketeze line, I just am not super educated on them.

It has the initals “GH” engraved on the scales as well. If anybody could tell me a little more about it I would very much appreciate it. who knows maybe I can even find the original owner and get it back to them. Imagine after all these years…”Well I’ll be damned! So that’s what happened to that old knife.” 😂

Thanks!

That is an interesting and fun find. No doubt nature worked its course on it. I would use some WD40 and #0000 steel wool to remove rust, maybe get it to open and then see what you've got.

Put it in a small ziploc bag and submerge in Kroil. That might not even loosen it, pretty bad shape.

Great find!
However, I gotta disagree with Joe, imo it is not the Cat"s Pajamas....more like the bees knees! 8)

Please post another pic if you succeed in cleaning it up a little.

That’s regrettable.

Not sure I could come up with a pattern number for that one.

Robeson used a few different black composition handle material and I have never seen a knife any of them that was in that poor of condition.

Stay out of that creek!
