Still in disbelief

There was still all five of us, three brothers and two sisters, until just recently. But in the past year and five months we have lost three. Now it’s just the oldest and me, the youngest. The most recent passing was my last brother on Monday.
I wanted to mention this most recent death here because my brother was very influential to my interest in knives. He took me to buy my first quality pocketknife, a Buck stockman when I was probably 12. He taught me about the quality German knives and gave me a Puma stockman around my freshman year. We talked knives almost every time we talked on the phone. His conversations always started with “You been a tradin on anything lately?”. He also taught me to fish, how to shoot, how to play a little ball, helped talk my dad into getting me a used motorcycle, made me some quality sheaths and was my source of advice during dyi electrical wiring work. He was a good man with a unique character and I’m gonna miss him.

Sorry to hear that Froe. Sounds like you two were close and he sounds like a great brother!

A great testimony to a friend who happened to be your brother. Family can't be replaced.

I think I know how you feel. There were nine of us, four brothers and five sisters. I was the youngest. Now we are five, and I am the only man left. Yesterday I was with two of my sisters for tea and cake: we do not talk much about it, but the ones who are gone are never far from our thoughts. I just try to remember the good times and not dwell on the the bad times. At our age there are a lot of memories to rehash.

Sorry to read about this, Froe. Seems like you brother had a big impact on your life, and he will surely be missed.

Froe, I'm sorry for your loss. It's got to be hard losing a brother and a friend as you described him. May God comfort you and give you strength in the days to come.

Froe, my condolences, may God bless your family, I lost my sister recently and my brother who was 10 years older, 15 years ago, he and I talked knives a bunch he collected Hen & Roosters.
He taught me swim to drive and so many other things and I still miss him and always will.

Somehow I missed your post a couple of months ago, forgive me for not paying attention to the Upper Room Forum.
Recalling your other posts, I know where you put your faith.
Thanks for sharing your special love for your brother.
