PayPal love/hate

Well as of the past week, as a seller they (PayPal) want me to go to my PayPal account and post tracking numbers, or they hold your funds for 21 days…. And after supplying them they still wait 24 hours after the buyer received the product. I no longer sell on eBay but I wonder if they are doing that to certain sell sites or all sites? Another hoop to jump through and another reason they can hold your money.

I don’t know if this helps because I’m only a personal seller and I don’t have a store.

I shipped 3 packages last week that I sold on a different forum and all the buyers paid with PayPal.

I plugged the tracking into Paypal for two of them but I forgot to do it for the third one.

I never heard anything from PayPal about it and I transferred my funds from those sales a few days later after the buyers confirmed receipt.

I’ve not had any issues like that with PayPal. We always post the tracking numbers immediately. They need this since they have their guarantee that protects buyers from unscrupulous sellers. I can’t blame them for holding the funds when tracking isn’t supplied, they have no way of verifying if a package was delivered or not. I don’t know about how soon you can transfer funds, I have never tried to do it so close to a sell to know if I could or couldn’t. I wonder if it has something to do with when a customer uses a credit card to pay through PayPal? I have wondered how they handle when someone is using a stolen credit card?

Funny after 200 transactions that I never entered tracking to PayPal, and never had funds held…but now I enter tracking to AAPK and now to PayPal, I understand the protection but it just now cropped up. Well from stamps.com it sends them the minute I print the label…

I use Ship Station to purchase non eBay labels and I think that info is automatically plugged into PayPal. I've never had an issue.
