Jeff Mitchell Knives

I have three knives that Jeff Mitchell made. All three are very nice and well made. Two of them have snakewood handles that look great. What I do not like is that fact that I sent him a $100 Case tribal lock and sent him $250 in advance to put mammoth handles on it and he stole my knife and took my money. Then he blocked my phone number so I could not call or text him. I have about 10 months of texts ( Lies) he sent about my knife. I guess he spent my money and then sold the knife to someone else. I have been recovering from blood cancer so maybe he was hoping I would die and nobody would know what he did. If anyone loves near Red Level, Alabama tell Jeff he needs to come clean and send me my money back.

I had heard through the grapevine that Jeff was having some "issues", but I don't have any details.
That's a shame, cause he was on his way to making some good knives.
Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Welcome to AAPK - you posted here about 2 months ago
https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/k ... hp?t=78070 looking to have your own knives rehandled in mammoth and suggestions were provided by our membership for knife mechanics that could perform that type of service.
I’m curious to know if it was your custom Jeffrey Mitchell’s that led you in that direction or something else?
Sorry for your troubles and health challenges, hang in there!

to AAPK, Larry!
As it's been said, you have a great choice of knife mechanics that can help you get your knife done, and they all do fine work.
That REALLY sucks what Mitchell did to you, but if it's any consolation, he goes to bed each night with his little voice repeating over and over, "You're a low-life/you're a scumbag/you're a loser", and will continue doing so until he cleans-up his act.
Glad to hear your health troubles are currently under control, lets hope it stays that way!

I have been interested in mammoth handled knives for a long time. I sent Bighead here on the forum a few Case knives and he did great work putting Mammoth on them. I got interested in getting Mitchell to do one for me after I saw a knife that was sold on here on the forum that he made with mammoth handles and a Bigfoot shield on it. I loved the shield and as far as I know Mitchell is the only person putting those on knives. I contacted him and he agreed to re-handle my Case Tribal Lock and put mammoth handles on it with be bigfoot shield on it. This was going to be my favorite knife. During this process I bought a knife off the forum from mac that Mitchell had put some great looking Snakewood on. I talked to Jeff all the time and he told me he would make one of his natives with snakewood and put the Bigfoot shield on it for me. He did this very quickly and I paid him $450 for it. he mailed it right to me. Soon after he was telling me he was having a hard time making ends meet and needed money for groceries so I sent him the $250 I was going to owe him on the Case re-handle job ahead of time just to help him out. I sent it on PayPal to his wife Laura as he asked me too. I totally trusted him at this point. A few weeks later he called me and offered me a Micarta handled pocket knife for $250. I really didn't want it but I bought it because he told me he needed the money to fix his AC unit in his shop. The money I spent on these knives was from the sale of an old truck I had. I am on disability due to my blood cancer ordeal so I didn't have money to just throw around without the sale of the truck. I trusted Jeff would get my Case knife finished but he started giving me excuse after excuse and telling me when he would ship it. The ship date he would tell me would pass and he would come up with a new excuse and a new ship date. The last time he responded to a text of mine he got ugly with me and I guess he blocked my number on his phone. I have not heard from him in a few months since that last ugly text he sent. I even wrote him a letter and mailed him but got no reply. I still can't believe he did this to me after me helping him out when he needed it. I really thought he was my friend.

Not a good situation at all Larry but I’m confident that your charity and benevolence will be rewarded - maybe already has

anyways I’m taking this as a PSA regarding Mr. Mitchell who I hope sees the light and makes good on his obligations, he builds a fine pocket knife

If you sent him money via PayPal, you may have recourse through them. It is worth checking out.
