All About Pocket Knives

Just found this sterling silver knife and can’t get the blades open. Can anyone help me?

First put a drop of oil on the blade tang, then use the twist ring to open the blade about halfway. One side is missing the ring so you might have to fashion a new one.

Thank you, anxious to get the blades open and see who made it. Handles sure don’t look like silver.

You could try slipping a toothpick or something similar through the hole for the missing ring to open that blade. Let us know when you find out!
Might be Schrade or even a Sheffield company.

Thanks for the advice. It is a Schrade Cutlery, Blades look full. But needs a lot of cleaning.

Nice!! I had a feeling it was a Schrade

A little silver or brass polish should clean that silver right up. Simichrome also works.

I would soak it for a couple days in Kroil or some other quality penetrating oil.

Soaked the knife and the blades come opened. The ring actually brought the blade out.aThe tang stamp on the blade is SCHRADE CUTLERY. Blade and nail file look full, needs polished.

When first designed it was a favorite of ladies as it wouldn't break their nails opening it.
