Just got this dirty knife and I’m not up on American switchblades. It’s a big one. Handle is about 5 inches. It works too!

I would say it's a VERY good one!

I don't know anything about your knife either, Smitty, but the above answer from Tim probably says it all.
There's a dedicated group that covet knives like that and some sell for big bucks, due the research if you're selling it.

I’d maybe trade it but…. I got a couple more with it . A Mikov with many gadgets on it 6-7? Antler handle. And an old one I’m not sure of at all. I think it had writing on the blade,number on back spring . Anybody?

I think that's an old Hubertus humpback, Smitty, shame the blade was so severely sharpened.

I'll be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about switchblades, but for some reason my mind said "Hoffritz" then "Hubertus" when I saw that one with the pronounced tail lock.

JFYI, ~Q~, neither of those are autos, and unless I'm sadly mistaken the pronounced lock is commonly called a "humpback" release.

I can make out maybe one or two letters on blade if I use my imagination. Got this in the box too.

I’ve never seen a Schrade that big before. That was a good deal for knives! I see they get money for the Mikov.

The last patent date on the Schrade was 1916. Does that mean it was made then?

You are right, of course. I was looking at that old Utica for so long my mind got stuck in switchblade mode

I'd say that's REAL GOOD! It's a Schrade Hunter. Those were made between 1916 and 1940. From the picture, it looks like the blade might be a little short, but not sure. I'm guessing its worth somewhere between 200 and 400. How well does it fire and lock up? Those scales sure do look good. IMO you have a great find there.

It works nice. It has all the idiosyncrasies of the Schrade knives. I’m not sure what to do with it since I had not planned on collecting American switchblades. I like Italian! It IS made better than the other American switches I’ve handled!

Your mystery lockblade used to be a Puma.
Now it's a handle.
Your Schrade auto was made between 1916 and 1946. There is a crack in the handle near the button. Don't let it break further-you'll lose that piece.

Thanks Bill! I can make out three numbers on the blade 941. I suppose it could be 1941 ? It’s etched perpendicular to the blade.

And then I called it a Utica instead of Schrade...Dude, I think I must be losing it (my mind that is )

Yah, I was looking for a Utica somewhere and couldn't see an obvious one, so I started thinking his knife with all the gadgets was a Utica.
I hope your "Seniors Moments" aren't attacking you this soon!

Anybody have a nice puma 941 blade they want to donate?

that was a great lot on ebay, good score for you at that price if it's the one I'm thinking of.

I assume you are talking about the Puma? It's a model 941.

I contacted Puma and they said it’s obsolete. If I wanted a new blade i should contact Frank Parham . I’m not sure I want to do that. Somewhere in Germany I bet there is a box of them 941 blades.
