Found this beast recently, but have no idea who made it or anything about it. Blade is 8" overall length is 12"

That's a real oddball piece and I might be wrong but I think it's heavily modified. The only Bush Wacker I recall (same stamp) was a brush cutting machete made by Ontario Knife Co, I think back in the seventies or thereabouts. It had a different handle and MUCH longer and wider hooked blade. Possibly someone cut one of them down and did up a homemade handle to arrive at what you have.
