All About Pocket Knives

Hi folks, does anyone have any info on this knife?

I have searched for similar images etc but found nothing to compare.
An approx value would be nice to know.

Wow, that thing appears to be old and in good condition.

I haven't seen a Rodgers like that with weight scales but that might not mean anything coming from me.
I do think it's special.

I've never seen anything like it, but it's obviously a fish knife.
Scaler, hook remover and a scale.
I hope to see more information.

What is the size of it? I sent you a message also.

It was passed down to me a number of years ago and the story was it had been given as a gift by the King of Norway when on a visit to Scotland to one of my relatives who was the gamekeeper/ghillie. There doesn't seem to be any photos/info of anything similar anywhere.

Can anyone decipher the hallmarks?

The J.R. would be for Joseph Rodgers; the crown indicates Sheffield made; the date code n indicates made in 1930; The AN is probably the silversmith who produced the silver blade or provided the silver for it? Haven't been able to find info on that mark? May indicate who the knife was made for?, maybe Army & Navy?

Sorry I have no info on that particular knife. I’ve seen similar “fishing knives” with built-in weighing scales, but none that have any silver content as this one appears to have. It will be difficult to find sales of comparable knives from which to determine a value.

Hi Dan, the date code is actually a lowercase d which I believe dates it to 1896
