All About Pocket Knives

I found this old Remington knife and can't find any on the site. Was wondering if any of you collectors were familiar and could give me any information.

there is somebody that will know - we got some smart people on here.

When new, it had pearl handles and likely a shackle/bail. The final "4" in the pattern number R7084 indicates pearl handles. Likely made in the 1920s. Referred to as a "lobster knife". Little to no value in this condition.

This is not the exact same knife, as this one has a 3rd blade (the nail file), but yours originally looked similar to this one. This is not my knife - I found it in the following post:

As has been said the general description of the pattern of your knife is “lobster” manicure knife. There is an internal spring for each blade. (Typical pocket knife construction has visible springs at the “back” of the frame, but the springs on a lobster pattern are internal so not visible). The long pointed blade is for cleaning and maintenance of finger nails. In addition to a pointed end for cleaning dirt from under fingernails, it typically will have a nail file, and an area suitable for use as cuticle “pusher”, all on that long blade. The regular blade can be used for trimming the nails. Many of these had a bail, for attaching to a watch fob chain.

Keith: Here's one that looks to have the same frame. 2-3/4" pattern # R7925 with "Pyremite" (Remington's name for celluloid) scales. Your knife was originally pearl. The last number is the code for handle material, 4=pearl. J.O'.

The catalog image is from the Remington C5 catalog which I believe is from approximately 1925.
