All About Pocket Knives

From a company known mostly for the manufacture of lubricants for firearms came a series of fixed blade & folding knives made in Japan of very good quality at very reasonable prices.
For some reason they never caught on & they were discomtinued.
In addition to the ones pictured, there were also several models of fillet knives available. I have one around somewhere. I'll post a pic when I find it.

K7K, nice line up of knives. I agree that it’s a shame these didn’t catch on better. Master Hattori designed and made some of their knives. The sailor’s rigging knife for one that I know and I believe the ones with G96 on them as well. Those G96 knives show up on the Hattori Forums under a different brand names. Given the reputation of Master Hattori, it is surprising that these aren’t valued at higher prices and more sought after.

I know nothing about that brand, K7K, but that big ole' bowie in the top picture is likely the nicest bowie knife I've seen so far.
The others are also very fine knives, but the top knife I find to be outstanding.

Think they made several models that were dead ringers for Rigid USA fixed blades. Had to look close to tell difference.

They did make nice knifes.

I kinda like that top knife. Might borrow the pattern for my next McAlevy custom.

Sorry for the janky quality here, i just yanked these out of my pocket to take a quick picture right where im sitting when i saw a thread on my new favorite knives!

I bought this g96 965 for myself for my birthday because its as useful of an edc as i can imagine. I sought it out after i carried this g96 990 titan for a while, and i absolutely love it.

I sought the 990 out and bought it after I sold one and had sleep-disturbance levels of sellers remorse.

I bought my first Jet-Aer back in the 80s. I had never seen a Barlow with a locking main blade. Jump ahead to earlier this year and I came across 2 mostly mint , lock back knives by Jet-Aer. They were a perfect match for the Barlow.

I've seen your two newer lockbacks around, I wanna say 7000 and 7001? Something about blade makers choice or something maybe? Super cool. I've not seen the barlow though.

It's way cool. I've also not seen another lock back barlow. Im on a bit of a G96 kick myself, I'll come right out and say I'm pretty jealous of your trio.

The 2 small knives are the 805 mini lock back and the 806 mini lock back with scissors. Both seem to be readily available, but can be a little pricey. The Barlow is the 812. After reading your comment, I tried searching it by model number and was unable to find any information, nor pictures. Has me wondering if I bought an early counterfeit.

It is likely a legitimate knife. While knife counterfeiting had begun kong before the 1980's, it was mostly older brands of knives. Most Japanese knives were considered to be "cheap imports", though by then their quality was typically good.
Yours was probably just a limited run, with few made and less documentation on them.

Id echo what Reverand said and that it's probably just not well documented or very common. Makes it even more cool.
