All About Pocket Knives

Over the weekend I bought some older knives mostly just for parts; they were rusty and I couldn't read the tang stamps
As I looked through the knives I saw a 3 inch 2-bladed gunstock knife that was all there and when I cleaned the knife I saw S&M Gowanda N.Y.
I don't know if the handles are bone or stag; the knife has a nice emblem; the blades haven't been sharpened near mint; the only fault is the backspring
for the smaller blade which is sunken slightly therefore the small blade doesn't snap when closed...I was well pleased with this knife...
Also looking over the knives there are some others I believe will be worth noting as I continue to clean them....
Just goes to show that you can be at the right place at the right time; and if you think it's there it's probably not
but then again you can be pleasantly suprised...Not bad for a knife 122-127 years old

Thanks herva!! The next one I started cleaning up is Challenge cutlery co. Bridgeport Conn....Everthing there but the back handle
otherwise near mint

Bone handles.S&M had a horizontal jigging pattern in their early days.

I would like thank everyone for the nice compliments; but when I bought those knives I had no idea that knife would be there or anything close...
I knew all the knives were older here is a list of the ones I've cleaned somewhat but need more....
1) Challenge Cutlery Co. Bridgeport Conn. This knife is all original would be near mint but the back handle is broken one small piece left 1867-1928
2)Valley Forge Cutlery made in U.S.A.... VF in circle...Pearl handles one of the blades doesn't close correct only thing wrong ...1916-1950
3) Circle Remington knife very well used handle cracked small amount missing; blade is wobbly... 1921-1924
4)Regal Cutlery Co. Germany very small knife all there; looks good blades need to be cleaned more.. 1906 trademark used by Boker
I will photo these knives later....
