3” pen knife with well used main blade. I had not before seen this bottle cap lifter. Marked “Patent applied for”. No pattern number to be found on the knife. Anyone else have a example?

Yes, that is certainly different than what is usually seen. Normally the knife handle is lifted up to remove the bottle cap. This one is operated by pushing down. And when folded away, the hook protrudes from the handle. Could be kind of awkward carrying in the pocket. First one I've seen like that.
