Western 691 Trapper

Well this one did not turn out as well as I had hoped, but I think she still looks purty enough to take to the dance!

This is the Western 691 Trapper that once belonged to KLJ77. Here is his original post about it:

I recovered it in antler (either Elk or Moose, I lost track of where I sourced it.), and cleaned it up as best I could.
Not only were there deep dings in the bolsters that I could not remove, but I added a few grooves when it got caught in my belt sander. Rookie mistake. I thought about threading the bolsters to hide some of it, but decided instead to just sharpen and carry it. "Perfect" knives are for sissies!!!!

I thinned down the antler until all the pith was gone, but it is still fatter than original, but feels about right in the hand.

PS. I started on this knife a month ago. Today I hurriedly got it all peened together before I realized that I had forgotten to add handle pins! I decided to just leave then out, along with the shield.
