An interesting knife I picked up at a Black powder rendezvous. Had deteriorating wood handle scales.

Love everything about it. Especially the forged flare/ integral guard and pommel. Any makers marks?

It doesn’t really matter much anyway. Unless it had a recognized name. I doubt it was made in a factory.

G.C. Co. Italian lock back came to me with plastic handles. Made scales from cow horn and replaced steel pins with brass. A lot of work but it’s nicer now.

Here’s another. Nasty deer foot, I like using the top side of a critter. Found an elk tine that fit the bill. Considering if I should add a poured pewter pommel.

I like that, great upgrade! I will take a stag handle over a hair handle any day! 
I have never been a fan of stag foot handles; most are uncomfortable to my hands.

For sure never understood the deer foot handle. Most of the time a quality knicker blade that deserved a better handle.
