All About Pocket Knives

Seems like Case started making a lot of oddball (Different for Case anyway) fixed blade knives in the early 80s and then quit shortly thereafter. Carrabou skinner and a few others come to mind. Here is a 1981 Choctaw and a 1980 Li'l Devil. I have a caribou skinner I'll get a picture of to post as well.

Anybody have any unusual early 80s era Case fixed blade knives to show off?

Here is a 1983 fillet knife that got me thinking about these this morning...

This one indicates it has "Special Stainless" steel on the mark side of the blade. I posted this knife in the Q&A section also because I'm not sure what the extension is on the back...

I feel somewhat odd, I know something LOL
The strange looking thing off the back is for scrapeing the entrails cavity out, only on your better fillet knives and somewhat rare.

Well, I will say this, Caribou are down right tasty, they eat mostly tundra lichens. When Caribou are migrating - it is a sight to see. I sure learned wht you have a guide, they see them all the time and are a good judge of an animal. I kept looking and asking which one do I shoot? I'm used to seeing blacktails.

I went with a guy that was a vegetarian BUT he had all the meat cut and froze, then gave it away. He loved to hunt but never ate meat. He got married and the Boss laid down the law.

and a Cheyenne, both with a 1 piece rolled stag handle
both of them bring over $100 on ebay, $200 if its a runaway

Yep, we call it a spoon, every salmon troller off the coast has a similar knife, there is a lot of cheap junky ones off the coast usually a $20.00 carbon steel, those last a year at most.

Well I have one too "lil Devel skinner" and heres a CASE Select 80's no ? maybe what is it ? but I have no idea of the value? any ideas would be nice.
Nice ones I do like the fixed blades alot.

hello..

this is my first post, so i'm a green horn!

i've recently aquired an unsharpened case kiowa and an arapaho, thinking i only need the pawnee, now i see a choctaw....how many different fixed blade indian tribe knives did case make ? and what did they call this series ?
i picked up the arapaho for $48 at a show and got the kiowa for $80 on ebay yesterday.
if i'm wanting all the indians what am i up against?

Case V42 reproduction dagger

Case boot dagger with special cast pewter handle by Shaw-Leibowitz.Supposed to be only 750 made for each branch of the service.Only the Marine knives were made as they couldn't fund the rest of them.I had two of these and gave one to my brother who was a Marine wounded in Viet Nam.
