Help! What do I have here? Does anybody know the country of manufacture, model, era, and value of this knife and sheath?

I wonder if that's a matched set. A sheath without a knife very similar to this sold in an AAPK store. I'll look in my SMKW catalogs for more info.

That was made by Schrade USA. The Old Timer version (9OT) was made from the mid-eighties to the mid-nineties so yours would likely be from that same era. Yours was probably made for a scrimshaw scene so it might be a leftover or second that was never scrimmed. Those sheaths were sold individually so it probably wasn't a set, although it's possible.

Thanks, Bob and Eric for your very helpful replies. I'm guessing that a fair value would be in the $75-$90 range, thoughts on that?

Didn't find it in the catalogs, The ones without an index take a lot of time. Maybe this is the same knife in mint condition?

Thank you Bob - I’m thinking what I have is an unscrimmed LB8 with an accessory sheath that didn’t come paired from the factory - your help and response is greatly appreciated. Tom

Hey Tom, cool knife. I have a couple of LB5's that I bought at the Blade Show in Atlanta that I was told were some of the last ones out of the factory
They were not gut hooks, but the handles were made for scrimshaw and never had the scrimshaw completed. The gentleman I bought them from told
me that he had purchased a ton of the last knives and parts made at Schrade USA, and a portion of them were completed but un-scrimshawed knives.
Very cool knife you have though..

thanks Kerry - I’m not a Schrade expert but I do like the feel of this one in my hand. Merry Christmas!
