No idea. How big is it? Is it sharp? A scraper? J.O'.

Good question. Not sure what size it is. I'm guessing the handle would fit the hand well and the edged part would be the size of an open hand.
I sent the seller a mail asking if the "thing" or "tool" was meant for the kitchen, garden or for woodworking. He answered that it was a "universal tool" that could be used in many areas. Which means he has as much of an idea about it as I do. Zero.
Maybe it might also be good for working on ice sculptures. Just a thought.
I find it pretty cool but he wants around €40 for it. Two times more than I wish to pay for it.

During the war era a lot of the Solingen knife companies were making more tools than knives. It looks to be some kind of a chisel. But then the hole in the handle makes me think it may be more of a kitchen utensil for scraping. The 41 may be the designated size or model. It could have been part of a set of other chisel tools. What are the dimensions?

It's a model 41 Cleaver, the head should measure 5"
The model 42 was the same except it had riveted on handle material.

So it was a meat Cleaver.

Thanks for the Info.

I guess it has sold by now but I'll look around & see if I can still find it.

Friend Tom I'd take Miller's Brothers statement to the bank, but I was down in that youtube rabbit hole the other day and there was some horse people using similar tools to trim and and work with horse hooves.

Hi bighomer,
I guess you could find a number of uses for it. Could also use it as a small hatchet I guess.

Like for triming small tree branches or wood working jobs.
Unfortunatly, I didn't grab it when I had the chance. Now I wish that I would have. Who knows if I'll ever come across another one in such good condition.
