Case tiny stag hunting knife question

I found this on eBay and got a pretty good price on it. I did not know it was going to be this small though. Is this a bird knife? Based on tang stamp it’s pretty old. See attached pictures?
I was going to clean up with a knife eraser but wanted to see what you guys thought?

They had a 3 Finn and 5 Finn small fixed blade. I found one with a stacked leather handle that was rotted and made an antler handle for it.

From the looks of it in the picture I'd agree with the bird and trout. Many of the old knife companies including Case made what I call kid's knives which were a little smaller than Bird and trout and had a smaller handle for little hands. Western made a 28 model (L28, B28, F28) and I collected all I could find of them and then started branching out to case, Kinfolks, Queen among others. Some of these smaller knives command higher prices that the more common bigger knives.____Dave

Does the one I bought look legit? eBay always make me doubt myself.
Only thing I did not like on this one was sheath has a gash in it where they put blade in wrong. That was not described in auction

I only have $40 total in it so I figured definitely worth that with Stag handles.

Case Model 523-3 1/4 XX era nice old knife if it was mint it would bring $200.00 the way Case Stag Fixed Blades are going .

No That was a Great Deal were you going to find that nice of Stag Fixed Blade for that price

One good thing that I can see from the pictures is that the pins appear to be spun. That is not definite proof that handles are original, but it is a good sign.
It probably is a bird & trout knife, but could also be a boy's knife. Knowing the exact length of it could help the right person to identify it.
I personally would not clean it up any, except to wipe it down with oil, or paste wax. Something like that. It looks like an honest old knife that is still in great condition.
And in my uninformed opinion, it may be worth 2x or 3x what you paid for it.

I thought it was a nice piece. I have tons of knives but did not have this one
I always say "I'm done with my collection" and then I find another one every time
