Any idea about this John Petty and Son knife from Sheffield England
Date of manufacture? Late 1800s?
Type of knife? Pocket knife
Is a tiny piece at end of the tip missing?
Value?

I'm guessing it's a pruning / hawkbill jack knife, if it is it got quite a bit of blade loss and yes the tip seems to be broken off, someone with more knowledge than I will come along with better info.

I'm thinking it may ground down and was probably originally a "half-hawk" pruner like this one .Notice both kicks are flat-bottomed like many British
