All About Pocket Knives

I’ve never seen one like this. Looks like they used the right materials. Anybody know this manual? 9 in.

Does it have horn scales too? Nice knives, but I don’t know squat about Japan knives.

... No,... mine has black plastic scales and is "humpback" lock type... the kind that was sold in small ads in magazines in the 1960's for $2.99,... !!!

"PIC" stands for Precise International Company, a US based knife importer.

Some people think it's Precise Instrument Company, but here is a picture of one of PIC's old knife catalogs. It's "International", which makes sense because they imported knives from other countries, like Japan..

Yeah, PIC was in Suffern, NY, about 12 miles from me. They mostly sold knives made in Germany and Japan. There are many many German made fixed blade with their brand.

PIC got started in 1954 and imported sporting goods until the late 1980s or early 1990s - exact date is unknown when they got out of the sporting goods game, shifting to other lines of business.
