New_Windsor_NY suggested I post this here too.
Since I have been frequenting the forums lately I have been pulling out some knives I have. This is an old Presto. It is supposed to flip open with the button but the mechanism is not working. The handles are in really nice shape. The blade not so much.

New.....
The reason I "suggested" you post the Schrade Presto pocket knife here
is because this is the Schrade forum. I think it makes sense, but.....

Oh, my name is Skip.

My guess is still the same as I posted in the other thread...
Nice one! Might have a broken/missing the throw spring. Look inside the well, there should be a slightly-curved metal spring sticking up. That is what provides resistance when you close the blade. If you don't have any resistance when closing the blade, that could be the cause...

Nice knife! If you "color" the blade with a #2 pencil, it will remove dirty, grime and rust but will not remove an etch if there is one.
