We always knew it was going to happen we just didn't expect it this soon. I was up all night
as my Mom (Bertha Roberts) was quietly resting but shortly after 2:00 this afternoon after
we had all gathered around her bed to pray and say our last goodbyes she went home to be
with our Lord and Savior, she had just turned 90. Give me a few days and I'll be back online
but in the meantime please say a prayer for our family as we mourn but also celebrate my
Mom's life....... God bless you all.

Prayers offered for your mom and your entire family. I am so glad your mom was blessed to have all of you with her as she made the great transition when all the veils and obscurities of this life fall away overcome at last by the great Light who is our savior.

Losing a parent puts us one step closer to our own mortality. I don't have to tell you how fortunate you are to have had her that long. Rest in peace Bertha Roberts.

David, I have you and your family in my prayers. Sorry I missed this the day it came out, I was in the hospital, but I'm home now.

Father, I pray for your peace and your comfort for David and his family. I thank you that his mother was a Godly woman and that she is even now in your presence, rejoicing with the angels and praising You!

I don't have enough words to thank all of you for your prayers. Mom was such a rock for the
whole family and it's hard to think of her no longer being with us. I have the Blessed Assurance
that she is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Being the elder child it fell upon me to write the obituary and the Memorial service handout.
I just finished both of them and they were harder to write than any of the books I've written.
My brother is a minister so he is officiating the service. My sister who had been her care giver
for a number of years is having some real difficulty. She now has so much time she doesn't know
what to do or how to deal with it.

Since she is being cremated we have time to allow all the family to get here for the service
which will be November 11th.

Once again thank you, thank you, you're all a blessing and always step up when other are hurting.
May God richly bless each and every one of your lives.
David Roberts

We had Mom's funeral yesterday and it was much more of a celebration of her life and the lives she had touch.
The church was full of all the family and friends that new her and everyone stayed for the lunch that followed.
When we went to the cemetery we buried her ashes next to Dad. The cemetery folks wanted $400 to dig a 18"
hole so we had told them no we would do it. My brother sister and I dug the first shovel full and then the
grandkids all took a turn and by the time that was done the hole was almost ready. It was a day of celebrating
Mom or Mamma as all the grandkids called her. It was a day of sharing memories and reconnecting with family
that we hadn't seen in some time.

All of you had a part in yesterday's celebration because of your faithfulness to pray for one another when one
of us is in need of comfort. I tell folks about y'all all the time and this time my family and I are truly humbled
and honored in all that you have said and prayed for us. You are all a gift and a blessing from our Heavenly Father.

David
