All About Pocket Knives

I have a switchblade I've had for years it's old ,how old I don't know. The blade is marked uppercase B over Rostfrei. I was on the website Stiletto-italiano.com reading about the Beltrame knives. According to this website the Beltrame family says a knife marked in this fashion is a fake. And that a blade marked with a lower case b is right. Everyone is welcome to put there two cents in. From what I've described do I possibly have a fake or not? And if so faked by who? Thanks, Jason

I say it’s NOT a “fake”. It was made by one of the Beltrames or just another family that sold them to the Coop.I think by fake they mean Frank B. is not the maker. Fake? No.

I do not have any knowledge about Beltrane knives. But I find this question kind of interesting in a philosophical way. Can a knife be a fake if it is not marked with the stamp of whoever it is supposed to be faking?

I've read that information from that site, Chevy, and they appear to be a reputable website so I'd think they know what they're talking about.
I've seen a few variations of the "B" stamp such as, "Frank B.", "B", faded "Frank" clear "B", "b", etc., as well as owning 2 genuine Frank B. autos to compare from that are stamped "Frank B."
They seem to have gotten things all mixed-up as they were shifting the partnerships around so it's sortta hard determining what's what. Bottom line is, they're good knives.
