All About Pocket Knives

Hey all, I’ve searched around and cannot get a clear answer as to a ballpark of what this collection may be worth. Not necessarily going to sell it as it was inherited to me. A 1985 collection is on ebay listed for 500 OBO. No idea what a 95’ is worth. Just wanna know if it’s worth holding onto. Thanks All!

Nice collection. I can't tell you for sure what it is worth but some
members here may give you a price.

Who knows this collection may stimulate you into knife collecting. It
all started for me by my wife buying a Case knife for our first wedding anniversary
in 1977. Years past and then thru my employer I could pick out a gift one of
which happened to be a pocket knife. ( That was about 7 years ago)

Here is some history I have accumulated about the Schrades:


American manufacturer Schrade Cutlery Company produced the Great American Outdoors Series in Ellenville, N.Y. for knife enthusiasts worldwide. The series started in 1976 and ended in 1996 with 9 to 13 different knife patterns per year, all with a different outdoor scene that changed almost every calendar year. Each series was usually limited to 10,000 units. Outdoor scenes were done by Schrade’s own scrimshaw artist Frank Giogianni. He first presented his work to Schrade in 1975 as a demonstration. His name and year made were usually below in the outdoor scene. The pile side of the knife had a small etched frame to add a personal message or the owners initials. The main blade had a “Schrade Scrimshaw”stamp.

You're probably looking at somewhere around $300 give or take $50. All depends on how badly someone wants it. Don't go by what people are listing their knives for on Ebay, most times that's just wishful thinking. For a more accurate value go to the advanced search and click on completed listings. That's what they actually sold for (prices in green). Prices in black are items that didn't sell.
