Have anyone's covers changed color? Mine turned brown. It's a nice brown, but it's not olive green.

That’s not common but it happens, especially with time and use. Bone is a natural material so it is subject to reaction to its environment. Exposure to light, oil from your skin (handling the knife) or other sources can be a factor. Most commonly seen are changes due to exposure to light or petroleum products but other things can also affect color.

Being an organic material, no two pieces of bone, even from the same vat, accept the dye coloring the same. I have a couple of olive green bone handled scout knives the mid-2000 timeframe that could easily have been sold as brown when they were new.

Thanks Ken. Your information makes sense. I just wasn't expecting them to change like that. I still love my knife with its new color, and now I have a story about it. Win, win.
