All About Pocket Knives

Found this yesterday.
-Is it a 2291?
-The liners appear to be nickel silver ? Price says the earlier ones were "iron" and brass was later, doesn't mention nickel silver. ??
-Can it be dated with a "KA BAR" over "Registered U.S.Pat. Office"" stamp on the mark side? Levine and Price don't mention this mark ? (I have two more with that mark).

Don't know much of the history but I believe you have identified the liners properly as NS.

JO, i have never seen a doggie with iron liners. Most of mine have brass liners and nickel bolsters. Need a time machine to find out why or when the nickel liners were used, there is no literature I have seen showing the changes.
