*The Imperial Military Nagoya Arsenal (陸軍造兵廠名古屋工廠 Rikugun Zōheishō Nagoya Kōshō), better known as Nagoya Arsenal (名古屋工廠 Nagoya Kōshō) was a Japanese state-owned combine of five military industrial facilities located in the various wards of the city of Nagoya.

Thanks ... That is nice! ... I don't see a lot of Imperial bayonets when I am out looking at shows and flea markets etc... I am always glad to find one as I have always had their pocketknives ever since I was a bratty 'lill kid.

This one is on its way to me. I bought another knife and this one came with the deal, don't know anything about it or the name stamped on it.

Any ideas on what it is?

... As I recall, the U.S. MK5 bayonet fits the M1 Garand rifle. It was adopted in 1953 to replace other bayonets for the M1 rifle and is specifically designed for this firearm.

Zach , you’re correct Aerial went out of business in 1944 . So was the Mark 5 made during WW2 ? Will do more checking .
MB , not sure about rarity of your M5 . Will do some further checking. Am curious now about dates and quantities of the Aerial made M5 .

I've only one Bayonet in my "pile" so I'm not a collector by any means but this one piqued my interest. Thanks for the history page, an interesting read. Can you imagine finding that box! Oh man, I dream of moments like that.

I thought they were made (or modified) after WWII .....

I lost a lot of good bayonets in a burglary, at least I have some of the pictures of them here.
