Request for Prayer

This is going to be a busy week with doctors for Cheryl and myself. Tomorrow she has an outpatient procedure on her shoulder that will have her in a little pain and her arm in a sling for a few days. Then on Wednesday I have a diabetic checkup and physical followed on Thursday by a surgical biopsy on my lungs. The biopsy is to confirm or rule out idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Hopefully I'm not in the hospital more than 1 day. None of these appointments could have been changed or it would have been months before getting back on their schedules. So if you would please remember Cheryl and I in your prayers this week and that our Heavenly Father will grant us a favorable outcome in both our procedures.
Thanks everyone and God Bless you all.
P.S. The doctor wants me to stop doing any work in the garage that creates dust or any residue from any knife work even if I wear a mask or respirator. Also I don't think he understands what I'm really doing when I talk about "woodburning art." I think all he sees is a lot of smoke.

UPDATE: We're home from Cheryl's procedure. The doctor took a round mass out of her right shoulder just over an inch in diameter or about the size of a ping pong ball. Lab results may take up to two weeks. Her arm is not feeling too good right now that the local is wearing off. Now I'm up next early Thursday morning only their not using a local on me, I'm gonna take a good early morning nap and hopefully be out of there by noon.
Many thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers, God bless you all...

David I'm praying for both of you to get the best reports possible from your tests and that you'll come through your procedure with no complications.

UPDATE: First let me thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers, they mean so much. Cheryl is just about back to normal except there is still a little irritation at the incision site and that is what the doctor expected. My procedure went just fine I'm told, all I remember is the operating room started to buzz like when your old TV had no signal. Then the next thing was a nurse trying to wake me up so they could send me home. I had a ruff night and this morning I'm still a little wobbly on my feet and still have a little dizziness. Hopefully it will wear off soon seeing I have a church planning meeting later today. The doctor said they biopsied one lung and did what he called in layman's terms a scraping and brushing of both lungs. The results of the biopsy will take up to 2 weeks to come back from an outside lab and the other things he did will have results in a few working days.
Again, thank you and God bless you all.

UPDATE: Lung Biopsy Results
Got the results from my lung doctor this morning, it’s called “Pulmonary Fibrosis.” They don’t know the cause but they know there is no cure. Pulmonary fibrosis is a lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly. As pulmonary fibrosis worsens, you become progressively more short of breath.
The scarring associated with pulmonary fibrosis can be caused by a multitude of factors. But in most cases, doctors can't pinpoint what's causing the problem. When a cause can't be found, the condition is termed “Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.” The lung damage caused by pulmonary fibrosis can't be repaired, but medications and therapies can sometimes help ease symptoms and improve quality of life. For some people, a lung transplant might be appropriate as a last resort.
At this time there are two medications they are going to try in order to slow down the deterioration of the lungs but they come with some really nasty side effects. At some point I’m sure I’ll have to go on continuous oxygen but not just yet. I have a feeling my life and my activities are about to change dramatically. No timelines were discussed about how slow or how fast things might change, I think it all depends on how I react to the medications. Anyway I’m not going to stress over it or worry about what may come, God knows where this is leading and it’s in His hands.
God bless all my family and friends,
David

David, the diagnosis doesn't sound to good.
The outcome you stated says volumes about you and your faith, "God knows where this is leading and it's in His hands."
Continued prayers.

David, you are have been on my prayer list for a while now. I pray for your healing.
Remember, "All things work together to the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his service."
Here is the song I found helpful and such times as this. It's called, "Praise You In The Storm."
I have found it very helpful when going through storms of this life, such as you are going through. I pray it blesses you.

Thank you Dale, that is a very good song and thanks to everyone who has been praying for me. This will be a difficult storm but just as Jesus calmed the sea one dark day He will do the same for me at the appointed time. The average life expectancy is 3 to 5 years so you guys still have to put up with me a while longer and I'm sure I can beat that average. And yes the knife collecting and woodburning art will continue.
Matthew 6:34 NKJV
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
