All About Pocket Knives

I haven’t had time to post much here lately. Been dealing with multiple issues, family, health, remodeling plus 4 knives I have been making by stock removal. The knives are for Charlie & I will give them to him at the OKCA show next month. I won’t post pics of them before hand as I think Charlie should be the first to see his knives. Then he can post all the pics he wants.

Here are a few of the things I have been able to slip in between all the other stuff going on in my house/life.
All of these fall into the realm of experiments. I was experimenting with new materials, patterns & techniques.

There is a funky handle on a funky Camillus blank that was made for rubberized handles, THP, or something like that. It has Malagasy rosewood with a butt cap of water buffalo horn. I am shipping this to a family friend who skinned his elk last year with a "dive knife" as he called it. I think this will be a slight improvement..........I just don't like the handle shape.

There is a Schrade 125OT that I put honey jigged bone on. This was a used knife to start with & I finished it before I got my new buffer, so I didn’t get all the scratches out of the blade. It will make a great user though.

Also there is a 6OT with stag.

Sorry for the lousy scans. The scanner seems to be adding all kind of strange dark spots not on the knives even some double images on the stamping.

lastly, that is some seriously weird camillus blank you have there. Your handle is great, very clean and no nonsense, but if there was a prize for knives that were born ugly... (you know, the ugly knives are usually the ones I end up buying. such is the sickness )

I am going to take it to the OKCA show & see if someone likes it enough to buy it.
If they do, I have several more 6OT I will be making up to sell.

What do you guys think I should ask for it, $125, $150 or more?
If more, how much?

Nice knives, and great file work, wish mine was the clean and crisp looking.
As far as selling those, I would start at 225.00 on the folders. You can always go down. But you need to re coop the knife cost, plus scales, and your labor is worth 40.00 per hour anyway. Just my opinion, but dont sell your talent and craftsmanship for less than you deserve. I would bet they would fetch the 200 + range on ebay, I sell there all the time, and do real well. Just my opinion on this, but the work is very nice.
