All About Pocket Knives

This month we have a special donation from a very passionate and engaged first-time donor Dan In MI (Dan Addy). Dan wanted to do his best to please his fellow AAPK members and reached deep into his collection for the September 2023 giveaway knife. Dan chose a 2019 Case Mini Trapper (item number 27772, pattern number 6207) in burnt gray peach seed jigged bone. This knife was originally owned by AAPK member QTCut5 until 2021 so the winner will be getting a knife with DNA from 2 very active and well-respected AAPK members. It spent one day in Dan’s left front pocket, primarily so he could give it the ol' CE and CF (chicken eye and coon finger) and it has on its resume some minor slicing of receipt paper, but that's it. Fit and finish on it are reported to be generally good and it retains the factory edges on both blades. The color and finish on the covers remind Dan a little of a nicely weathered piece of teak with kind of a beachy vibe. There is no doubt in Dan’s mind that a fellow AAPK member will be very happy to have become the 3rd AAPK member to be the caretaker of such a fine knife. Good Luck!

Instructions for entering the giveaway...

Simply click here and select a number between 0 and 999.

You will have until September 30th (6:00 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number, after which entries will not be considered. The Illinois State Lottery evening pick-three drawing will determine the winner on September 30th. The individual closest to the selected number without going over will win. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:

To be eligible to win, you must be 18 years of age and either (a) have made at least 100 total forum posts at the time of entering the monthly giveaway or (b) have previously donated successfully to at least one prior monthly knife giveaway.

Please ensure that your Board Preferences Miscellaneous Notifications are set to notify you via email when someone sends you a Private Message (PM) to ensure the time requirements below are met.

The first-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM after the drawing and will have three days to respond with contact and shipping information. If the first-place winner does not respond within three days, the knife will be offered to the next player on the list without going over.

The next-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM, and they will have one day to respond with contact and shipping information. If the next-place winner does not respond within one day, the knife will be offered in the same manner to the next player on the list without going over.
