All About Pocket Knives

I will be buying this one next month locally. I was able to get a pretty good price from the owner of the store, who was also the previous owner. I knew little about autos and tested several today at my local cutlery store. I wanted something that was tough, opened quick, had zero chance of opening in a pocket (thus safety, or preferably a recessed button), and was under $200. Plus, button lock only, as I wanted to be glove-friendly for farm work. I wanted something available locally. After handling this one, I said yep, this is the one. Thick blade, recessed button, and $165.

I had technically already decided on this one even before VA legalized carrying autos, as I have a worn-out version of the standard Emerson (Mini CQC 7) on which it is based. It'll cost almost as much as a new one to get fixed up.

I could've had it laid away and set aside for the $40 downpayment, but I decided I'd buy it in full and not bother with layaway.

I was eyeing this one, and the Pro-Tech TR-3.

I've got a Pro Tech switch. I like it a lot. So well made and has a good safety slide.
Hang on firmly when you press the little button.

Before you buy, take a look at the new Kershaw Launch-15, they're pretty cool too. I saw one in an AAPK store, but can't remember which one.

I think my preference of the Kershaw is born from my insatiable 1-track mind appetite for stiletto knives, but judging from the two pictures the ProTech appears to be much more of a working knife. Since my knives don't go to work it's likely natural that I'd prefer the sleek stiletto profile for aesthetic reasons.
I'm confident you'll make the right decision, buddy! lol!
