All About Pocket Knives

Got this 22 drawer old Card stock cabinet the other day. Works good for my meager accumulation.

Very cool. It looks like perhaps you could add some lift-out trays as your collection grows.

Thank you sir. Each tray dies lift out and then you can slide them back in. That thing is heavy! I got it down in my basement but it sure was a challenge!! Appreciate ya!

Thank you Bob!! It will hold more knives than I'll probably ever accumulate, but you never know! 10 years ago, I used to marvel at my little cigar box of knives! That's all I had; about 5 to 10 knives, but I sure was proud of them.

Looks like that should work great. Keep those celluloid ones separated though.

This just crossed my mind -- I'm sure those drawers are not air tight. How far away is far away enough, when it comes to celluloid gas? Having no idea of the density of the gas, could it rise up into the drawer above, or sink to the drawer below?

I've never dealt with any celluloid knives, so I have no idea.

OC some I can identify as celluloid, some I have a harder time with. I believe the old Imperials with the print on the metal handles are not cell. I wish I was better at identifying cell handled knives.

W.W. thanks for this post! I just picked up a similar metal cabinet and I was going to put tools in it ... however my pile of knives is out control ... and stuffed in shoes boxes... not easy to get to always... I think I am going to steal a page form your playbook here... thanks!

Thank you Joe!! I was running out of room in my wife's antique china hutch. I moved her hutch into her painting room to hold her paints and brushes. She is satisfied and I am as well.

That is a great storage cabinet, sure looks to me that it was worth wrestling down the steps.

That looks like good storage capacity and doesn't take up a lot of space. I like it!

Thank you Ike. No sir, I didnt get to St Louis. My daughter moved to Sikeston Mo from San Marco's California and I've been watching over her. I think the cost of living will be much better in Southeast Missouri as compared to Southern California.

Thank you Glenn! That rascal weighs a ton. I should have known I was going to have trouble getting it down in my basement when he loaded it with forks on his tractor into the back of my buddy's truck. It was a job!! If I ever sell my house, it stays! it doesn't look that big but it's made of some heavy gauge metal.

Ike I got that thing down the steps by putting a paint blanket down and getting in front of it and letting it slide. Almost made it all the way down because it kept catching the lip of the stair. Got within 4 steps of all the bottom and my luck ran out and down it came. No harm to the cabinet and I managed to back away in a hurry! My wife, after finding out, I still had toes and fingers busted up laughing. She said, all you needed was a cowboy hat, sitting on it, saying hold my beer, watch this!!
