All About Pocket Knives

A lot of people lose pocketknives. Just wondering if you have ever been on the other end, have you ever found someone else's knife?

Here is one that I found. It is a Wenger 2 and 1/2". My last job before I retired, I worked for a contractor's supply that had a large woodworking tool department. I did the assembly and setup of power tools. I was assembling a Delta 8-inch joiner for a customer and when I opened the wooden crate, this knife was laying in the bottom of the crate. The crate came from Taiwan , so it traveled halfway around the world before it found a new home. My nephew once was pheasant hunting out here in South Dakota, and after having walked some corn rows and getting to the end near the fence line, he found a heavily rusted fixed blade knife stuck into the top of a wooden fence post. Probably left there and forgotten by a deer hunter.

I found a case folding hunter laying on a gravel road in deer season .It was packed full of red clay ,one side of the wood scales was broken and missing .the master blade tip was broken off .I cleaned it up and put it away in a kitchen drawn for several years I really gave little thought about it .After I discovered A.A.P.K. I met someone on the forum that could do something’s I needed done on a couple knifes .I really didn’t have much hope that the case knife could be made over but I shipped it to Reverend with the other two .The found knife that I really didn’t think was even fit to be saved turned out wonderfully as did the other two that Reverend done for me .I really wish I had taken a picture before the case knife was shipped .Here are a few pictures of the finished knife that should give me years of good service after being refurbished.

Found this Buck 301 in the late 80s, it was made in 88, in the walkway at the livestock auction. Just a couple days after I lost my EDC in the hayfield. it was like new when found. The guy who lost it didnt have it very long and became my every day user. Busted the tip off making a field repair on the baler knitters, ground a servicable tip and carried for a long time. it now just rides in a box on the truck seat.

I often wonder if I am going to find a pocket knife somewhere. So far
no.

Don't get discouraged. Keep looking up, or rather down, and who knows what you may find.

I'm sure that there's still a cheap tactical folder somewhere in my house that was left behind by a contractor. Other than that, I've yet to find a knife.

I've never FOUND a knife but sure have LOST quite a few!
One found knife that was gifted to me was a bit unusual: A friend(and client) of mine called to tell me he had a knife for me. At the time he was the curator of the Salem(Massachusetts) Witch Museum. They were renovating a room & inside one wall an Anton Wingen gravity knife was found. It was in near-perfect condition & now resides in my accumulation.

The Camillus barlow I found at work. I was washing down a boiler getting ready for a overhaul and looked down through the steel grating and and saw what looked like a knife on a i-beam went down a floor and retrieve it. It was rusted shut later I took it to the shop and put it in some penatrating oil and left it for awhile and was able to free up the blades. It was pited terribly I taped up the handles and took it to bead blaster and cleaned it up some, got some emery paper and shined and sharpened it up toted it for several years.
The anvil I found in the middle of the street right on the yellow line, I was headed to the court house for something and was driving slow looking for a parking spot, saw it and went and parked, walked over and picked it up.
Not pictured is a balisong by frost I found on the road while I was jogging back it the day
Also there's a little Victoria alox around somewhere that I found in a parking lot, it's beat all to heck.
