Quick & Easy DIY Knife Slips

Hi folks,
As most of you probably already know, I'm a fan of knife slips. I know most people are not fans of knife slips but for those who are or for those who might want to just test one & see if they like them or not, I came up with an idea on how to make them quick and easy. (for standard sized knives that is)
Only catch is, ya need an old shirt or light jacket with cuffs on it that your ready to pitch out anyways. I had a blue & white somewhat thicker woolly flannel jacket that I have been wearing the past two winters and the zipper broke on it so it was time to pitch it in the trash.
( By the way, these slips have not been sewn together yet. My daughter will do that later today.)
Anyways, if you look at the sleeve cuffs, they already have seams on both sides so you dont have the hassle of folding in the material inwards on both sides before you sew it together which makes the sewing part of the job much easier for whoever is doing the sewing part of this project.
1) So just cut the cuffs off right next to the seam or maybe I should say, where the cuff ends. Right on the boarder between the cuff & the normal part of the sleeve.
2) Then adjust it so that you have a flap that you can fold over & button closed.
3) Sew up both sides and that's it, your done.
This one will fit up to about a 4" knife. Depending on how"tight" or "loose" your flap goes over to the button so you can "adjust" it in length just a little bit. Just don't make the flap button up too loosely or your knife is going to slip out of the slip.
My 3 7/8" Sears Craftsman Trapper for example will fit inside of it perfectly once it's finished.
These two I'm making right now will be a bit "bulky" in my pockets due to the thicker "woollier" typ of flannel that I am useing. I'm sure that a normal (thinner) typ of flannel would feel better in your pocket but I don't have any thinner flannel shirts to cut up right now.
Of course you can use this idea on any material with cuffs on it. Ya got a dress shirt ya don't like or that don't fit right? 
There ya go.
