Harold, Sargents lists only a sheepsfoot and spey combo in pearl for a tested 8318. The pearl on that one looks a little oversized as well.I'm not real comfortable with that tang stamp either. Looks like a cold stamp.

Thanks Greg, I know the knife has had the original celluloid handles replaced with the pearl. I did not know about the blade configuration. Harold

The 8318 was also produced with a pen blade, so that wouldn’t be a concern with me. Closeups of the tang stamp would be good, Stamp doesn’t look to have been ground off and restamped as the grind line appears intact. Some better pictures would be helpful for sure. Pretty rare knife if everything checks out. I assume it’s 3 1/2” closed?

Just saw this post, good eye Greg. I thought the pearl looked pretty new for such an old knife.

I too would like better pictures of the stamp, but based on what I see it looks okay to me. The pearl looks too new for a Tested era knife. Obvious re-handle. JMO.

Edit: Oops, I see Tom (and Greg) concurs it’s been re-handled.

Looks to me like the CA lettering in Case is more heavily stamped.
