All About Pocket Knives

I used a mora knife yesterday first time ever and probably cheapest fixed blade I own. I dressed out a wild Turkey I shot and did a nice job . Might try it out this fall during deer season and see if still holds a good edge. Wondered if anyone else has ever used one of there knives. I have a new Esse and a custom fixed blade I wanted to try out but thought they were a little too big for a turkey. Really only needed my pocket knife but thought it made me feel more like a hunter using something bigger

I have several Mora's but really only use them for cardboard boxes, even the real thick ones. They cut through very easily and seem to hold and edge for quite a while. Very good knife for a ridiculously low price.

What the heck is that, P.C.?
It looks like a human ponytail that's been scalped from someone!

I have a Mora Basic that I have ran through the wringer. I’ve cut rope, tarp, whittled, cut potatoes and carrots and stew meat up for camp, and I love it. It is the carbon steel and will rust but I just keep it wiped down. It was $8 when I bought it 4 years ago. They sharpen different than your standard knife being Scandi grind but if you keep up with it just a strop will keep it tuned up.

Not being a hunter I'm not familiar with such terms, and had no idea such a thing exists.
Thanks you for taking the time to include the detailed picture, had you not, and had you just provided the text I still wouldn't have know what it is!

Mora's are one of my favs, I use the stainless for fishing, and carbon for general use. On my adventures I typically have a Swiss Army in pocket and a Mora clipped on. They perform really well I think and have a nice feel in the hand and are really light to carry. Pretty popular blade because of all that... and the price. Last trip I lost a blue one in the bushes and I didn't feel too sad about it given the $10 investment and use I already got out of it. Clipped on a new orange one and kept goin.

Hard to beat for the money and quality, they really, really are.
Been using them for wood carving, food processing while camping. For years and years....

My Mora is my favorite fixed blade knife!

Though the ESEE Izula II has stolen the show, I still like my Morakniv Garberg quite a bit. They are great knives, especially at the price point.

I think we knife people hold a special affection for certain knives. Primarily because of consistent performance they claim our respect. I suspect the Mora is such a knife for a considerable number of our members.
