All About Pocket Knives

Last weekend at the Shenandoah Valley knife show I met a very nice gentleman who identified himself as an AAPK member who goes by "bogey". (If he told me his real name, I've already forgotten it.) He somehow already knew that I like to restore old knives, and he handed me this Valley Forge english jack (4 1/2" closed). He said that he didn't want any money for it, but just wanted to see what I could do with it. As you can see in the first two pictures, the pen blade was broken off, and once I got it apart, I decided that the badly worn and broken bone scales were too far gone to try to repair. I couldn't find a Valley Forge replacement blade in my box of blades, but I did find a Schatt & Morgan blade that fit quite nicely. The scales are Gabon ebony and both blades have good, hard snap. Bogey, thanks for the great addition to my collection!

I have some old knives where I removed a broken blade because I couldn't find anything that fit.

Wow that was quick.You did a great job. I bought that knife about dozen years ago at a yard sale for one dollar.
I just didn't want it to get thrown away.
