All About Pocket Knives

Last but not least is a fixed blade knife from the same time-period stamped.... (Marbles Gladstone Mich. U,S.A.)
This knife seems to be in better condition than the other two knives.
The previous owner of the knife said he bought the knife in 1941 when he was 18 years old, he lived in the Midwestern area
but went to work for his uncle on a ranch in Colorado for about a year before being drafted into the army.
He didn't indicate if the knife was ever carried while he was in service
I just wanted to show the three knives I have from that era... This concludes the ones I have in this series... one picture shows all three knives

You got three good oldies there! Yeah, the Kinfolks went military style for those fighting/utility knives with the steel butt plate but also used the bakelite pommel and brass split nut like the Marbles on other wartime models. Somebody pounded the pommel of the Case but it looks like a model with the lead plug to hold the pommel on. Earlier Case hunters will have the aluminum pommel with brass nut, and at one point Case, Kinfolks, Catt, and even KA-BAR used the lead plug method of holding the pommel on. The 5" Marbles Ideal was also included in some bail out kits. Aluminum was not allowed to be sold to private companies due to the war effort and most companies that continued to make civilian knives during that time switched to bakelite and wood pommels for the duration. Many fixed blade knives made for the military also had bakelite or wood pommels. The wartime version of your Case knife had bakelite pommels with lead plugs.
