Hi folks,
Had a local guy share this knife with me. It was his father's and he's hoping to get a new blade put in it. I think I can do the work but where can I try and locate a donor blade for kabar, any idea age of this blade so I can find something similar online for reference? Not even sure if the small blade is correct size or ground. Its a special piece to him and he broke it as a kid and would like it fixed. I believe his father is passed. So any thoughts or help appreciated
Thanks
Ross

How long? I have a beater Kabar Medium Stockman that has a blade that might fit perfectly.

Looks like it may be a smidge bigger than mine then. I get 3 1/4" with a 2 1/2" blade.

I'm no pocket k ife repair guy but I dabble. This one worked out. Walks and talks. Sharpened it too. Saved a nice memory for the owner since this was his dad's knife.
Fun stuff

Fabulous save, love to see this kind of stuff. About my favorite thing besides a new knife is one repaired to working condition done well. You mailed it, congrats and the world is a better place with more knife fixers out there.

Agree with all that has been said - you did very well!
In a world where it seems everything is disposable, it feels good to see someone take the time and care to repair. I'll bet the owner is ecstatic!
