Can anyone provide information on the 2 Cattaraugus "Folding Machetes"?
I think that they must be Reproductions because they are in such beautiful, Near Mint, condition.
I purchased these about 15 years ago and and have never seen any others like this.
Thank You. Very Much Appreciated

I can't say for sure but they "could be" late production pieces. The stamp is the one they ended up with on their fixed blades and cutlery. But you're right to be cautious; they're mighty shiny for their age. Come to think of it, Catts may never have been that shiny. ::shrug:: Good luck. J.O'.

Those do look to be in amazing condition. Maybe too amazing, but hope you just got very lucky.

I have one with CASE XX markings. It is virtually identical to yours, but mine shows its age. Note the blade guard that fits on the edge when it is closed. Do you have the blade guards?

If I had to guess, I would bet the Cattaraugus and the Case Folding Machete were made on the same tooling by the same company, but bear different maker stamps.

They're legit. They look like whoever had them before you "cleaned'em up". They never came with a mirror finish from the factory.

I suspect that these specimens were "surplused out" from a supply depot and were never issued out. They should have edge covers like what hardman has on his.

I agree, those are not mint, they are buffed to death greatly decreasing value.
