All About Pocket Knives

I got to spend a little time in the shop today, and this is one of my success stories from it.
I had a Schrade with two broken blades. I had bought it thinking that it might be a Schrade Walden (from the look of the handle), but it wasn't.
Anyway, the replacement Main that I had was in Stainless, so I went ahead and replaced all 3 blades with stainless so that they would match. I couldn't get the pin to disappear on one side, and it has a little blade rub, but overall I am fairly pleased with the results.
The shape of the replacement blade is different. The oiginal blade was (once, before it was broken) shaped like this 881Y blade, with the wider profile and long pull.

Nice job! I need to get around to getting the blade changed out in an 8OT I have. Granddad gave it to me as it was a junk knife he bought as a part of a small collection in the late '80s (but I didn't get it until a celluloid disaster ca. 2019 that I had to clean up), and I have a spare (used) 8OT blade, but haven't gotten it done yet.

That is a really unusual blade. Of my 881/8OT/King Ranch relatives, at least one is match strike (Sabre Monarch 231), and pretty much all the rest have the long, straight nail nick.

How do you mean by that? I can't see any flaws in your workmanship. Great job saving it!

I just sharpened it up, added a few drops of Quick Release oil to the joints, and dropped it in my pocket. It is a good feeling to carry and use one that I repaired!
