What would the pattern number be? Has three back springs.

That's a great knife! Can't find the exact pattern but a 3285 with "Pyremite" (celluloid) scales looks to have the same frame with the third blade being a sheepsfoot and the others a spear and spey like yours. Your last number would be "2" for the black composition handles. So, the closest I get is R-32(?)2 or maybe R-33(?)2. If you can find a catalog, try searching around those numbers. Again, it's a great piece with a great shield. Good luck with it. Let us know what you find. J.O'.

Thank you for the info. I wonder on the shield if it had something above it. It’s missing a piece but it’s smooth not a break. The one blade is a screwdriver. I do believe the smaller blade has been reshaped as it sets up to high. I’m thinking it was a sheep foot with a hawk bill tip to start. Maybe. It’s a solid old knife with great snap.

Hmmm, I didn't notice that break. It looks almost like someone did it to get to the screwdriver nick. Like to see a brighter pic. O'.

I’ll take a better pic closed when I get home. The break didn’t affect the mail nick. Still has the liner behind it. But the break is perfect even smooth with the curve of the shield.

All three blades have the Remington stamp. No trace of a pattern number.

In my experience Remington advertising knives or special order knives very rarely came with a pattern number .

That stamp is 1921-24. It's an oldie.(Mike, good to know about the lack of numbers on special orders.). J.O'.
