Electric Furnace/Kiln

Hi All,
I'm looking for a used Evenheat or Paragon electric furnace/kiln. If anyone has, or knows someone that has one for sale, I'd appreciate it, if you'd let me know.
I need at least 2000 F., would like to have one that goes to 2200. 220V or 120V, really doesn't matter ( I don't pay for the electricity, in my shop ). Oh...chamber depth needs to be at least 12" (for chef's knives), the bigger the better.

I don't remeber why But I bought one through Tim Zowada. He was going through his orders list at the time. I guess a few customers died whille waiting for his knives. Lets see, I think he had a 13 year waiting list with knives.

I was just "casting my net in the waters", to see if there might be a used one somewhere. I missed a bargain, back in January...one of my buddies down south sold his for $350, and I didn't know about it, 'till it was gone.
I'll prob. wind up buying a new one, tho'. (Sigh)

JR I had read on a custom maker's site that they sometimes had used equipment for sale and finally found it. It's Bruce Godlesky (hope that is spelled right). Anyway it's close enough for you to know who I'm talking about. I was on his site a couple of days ago and noticed this. I checked just now and it says he sometimes has blacksmithing tools (anvils, forges, etc) for sale and to check with him. I don't know if he would have what your looking for, but it might be worth a shot. I'll add his link in case you don't have it. If you haven't visited his site, it's worth the trip to just look around. He has a nice site over there.

Nothing better than an electric kiln with a thermostat, keeps the temperatures right where they need to be. I wonder what an oven using Argon as it's inert gas would cost. I will need to get Argon for a TIG welder, why not have one for the over. Sure would cut down on scale. I wonder how many blades you'd have to do at once to make it cost effective. I believe that's what Bo's and others use to harden your blade with no scale.

Hey Hukk,
Paragon sells theirs as an "add-on" flow meter, for $200. I dunno if Evenheat even offers one. $200 would buy a lotta anti-scale coating, tho' ? Over the long haul, it's probably cheaper than stainless foil, tho'....I dunno what a bottle of Argon would cost.

Hey JR, Got some numbers for using Argon, good inert gas. Uhh - I forgot why nitrogen is not a good chocie but I do remember it was a very bad idea. I'm not going to try it cause I figure it may end up real bad.
Get an Argon regulator on eBay maybe and set it at 30 psi. Then set the flowmeter on the back of the unit at 7 (flowmeter that comes with the Paragon). I think that would be 7 scfm or 7 standard cubic feet per minute the atricle did not say which.
But the Argon regulator will control the flow so that little flowmeter will work. It won't work right without the regulator. The article goes on to say that he uses this setup often and does not use a whole tank in a year and actually uses very little.
Also - very little scale.
