BOKER-REHANDLE

Found this BOKER, 70113 Congress with gassed out scales for $4 in Pocomoke City, MD. Knife was untouched other than out-gas rust. Redid it in Brazilian rosewood from my buddy and luthier, Jeff Hostetter. Just love the "bolt" bolsters. It's now my EDC. :D (I took the pics before I cleaned and polished it. It looks a little better now.)
I taught myself a trick maybe you guys can use. I put painter's tape over the brass, between the bolsters, after removing the old scales, smoothed it down tightly and used a small file and razor blade to gently remove all but the scale outline. Peeled the tape off and put it on the new wood stock for a perfect pattern. Especially good when working with the angles of a congress pattern. Try it and good luck. J.O'.

Looks good, and nice tip too! Fitting the scale usually bogs me down trying to fit the bolster ends, I will give that a try.

Jam up job j.o.! You did an excellent job and I really like the wood you used. I’ll use your painters tape idea for sure.
