All About Pocket Knives

This is my second attempt to find out information about Novelty Pocket Knives. I think I worded my first message incorrectly and got no responses. It's a slight mystery. I know the history of The Novelty Cultery company. They were in business from 1879 to 1948. However, there are lots of Novelty pocket knives for sale currently that are definitely made after 1948. In fact, most of the models are see are stated to be 1970s vintage. They have the Novelty Knife Co. stamp or they have a U.S.A. stamp. I'm trying to find out who is making Novelty Knife Company pocket knives now. Of course, there may be no interest in these knives and that's why no one has any information. Anyway, I thougt I would give it one more shot before giving up.

The thing about SMKW is that if they own a trademark, they can have the knives made wherever they want. Possibly some were made in Pakistan, Japan, or even in the USA. Current production may be in China, but these can still be shopped about.

Thank you so much! I couldn't find anything about the current maker of Novelty Knife Brand! I see them all the time for sale on eBay. Sometimes they do have a U.S.A. stamp on the tang so I guess some of them are made in the U.S. However, it appears most of them are outsourced overseas. Also, I noticed they seem to follow the same pattern on all models regardless of where they are manufactured. Anyway, thanks again, the information is greatly appreciated!

For future reference, when you want to know the origin of a knife (or other object) you can often get information from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Registry site. https://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe ... h&p_d=trmk

It’s free and although it may not give you a total answer, it will often give you a good indication or point you in the right direction to find the answer.
