Two hands peeling an apple!??

Post by Alien883 »

I think I have seen this tang stamp before, it's definitive a German "made in Solingen" tang stamp, the knife has horn scales, a cork screw and 2 blades on oposite sides...about cigar pattern size. The horn scales are worm eaten. It's a more economical quality knife but very well made...I do have reference books but they all need the makers name to identify....which I am lacking...lol
Can anybody identify the tang stamp and or maker? I searched all over the place but no luck.
Any help will be appreciated!

Could you post another picture of the tang stamp.
One that isn't a closeup, but from a normal distance.
Also, it looks like there are a couple of letters below
the left hand of the stamp. Looks like the letter L. and
the letter E. ::shrug::

A couple of pictures of the entire knife would help as well.

Ever seen a stem on an apple like that? Makes sense to me we're talking about something else. I thought pumpkin but it is too small for that. An onion? I don't know. Interesting.

More likely it's the peel of the apple as it's being removed. My grandmother taught me to do that when she would make an apple pie.

(and she said that when she was little, she was told that, if you got the peel off in one piece, you could toss it over your shoulder and it would make the initial letter of the name of the person you were going to marry. Of course, I never got one off in one piece, so I had to wait to find out...)

I agree the piece sticking up is the cut peel.
