Hmmm, I'm just going to go out on a limb and say its a (Case) W.R. case and Sons collector series, John Deere commemorative knife (stag handle - canoe pattern) , in a wooden framed box with red lining and possibly a plexiglass cover held in by 4 screws or possibly 2 screws and 2 rivets. #1 of 50 (which is pretty kool)
Someone may come along to prove me wrong, but I'm going with that for now.

Thank you, thank you !
Kidding aside, I searched a bit for this one a few ways and didn't see anything matching. Seems pretty elusive but you might find more expertise in the Case specific forum here too.

One of the hundreds (thousands?) of commemorative collector sets produced by Case. Can’t see the tang stamp well enough to tell exactly how old it is but looks like mid to late 2000s.

1993-1999, depending on how many dots are hidden by the bolster under "USA"

You’re right. I was thinking that and somehow typed 2000s instead.
I think the transition to senility will be smooth for me.

I feel your pain, Ken!

Speaking for myself, sometimes it seems more like a race to senility than a smooth transition...

If it were mine? I’d bust it out of there and get into a pocket.

DH1985 welcome to AAPK. You have a nice knife there. Are you
a collector?
Like someone said before, bust it out of the box and carry it sometime and
enjoy it.

Very cool John Deere commemorative. Personally, I'd hang it on the wall in my work area. #2 of only 1 of 50, who knows where the other 49 are?

to AAPK!

I was curious about this.
Etched 1 of 50 on the blade, but has the 002 stamped bolster.
So it's #2 of 50, but it's "1" of them ?

There were only 50 made & it's one of them. It's #2.
