All About Pocket Knives

Just trying to get an age and exactly what you would call this type knife to search for info on it.

Certainly they’re collectable. Probably not much value, but there are people who collect just about everything. Both of those are great “novelty” knife collectables. Would perhaps be of more value to someone who specifically collects that type of knife.

Cool little knife. This type of knife doesn't have a throw spring but opens by use of a gear type mechanism on the back of the knife tang. I would call this a push-pull mechanism knife since the blade moves in conjunction with the pull piece. When the knife is open the pull piece remains out away from the knife body and is then pushed back in to close the blade. There is no locking mechanism for this type of knife. People that collect autos and gadget opening type knives show interest in them. Not a common knife to find. I would guess made before 1950.

I had seen some with the ball in pictures before. This knife actually works very smooth and for its construction is very tight and well made. . I like it.
