Some of you probably don’t want to share (you obviously don’t have to)…

but some of us don’t mind sharing/talking about the knives we are either bidding on or might be interested in

Here’s a couple of “lookers” I’ve got my eye on and will try to win…

Well maybe better luck next time. I’ve been on a losing streak as of lat, I will put my max in with a little time left then let it play it self out, and have missed the last 3 by $1. Like I say though who knows how high they were willing to go.

By pure coincidence, the knife that I'm currently looking at also has a patriotic theme but it's not an auction and it's not on eBay. I've actually been eyeballing one of these for about 6 months now. Just waiting for my savings to grow a little more and then I'll probably order one if David will still make one.

It's a Buck 55 customized by Navajo artist David Yellowhorse. I already have a David Yellowhorse Buck 55 and I'd like to get this one too eventually.

We can debate this… here’s my opinion

The only good these type of bidding solutions do is help me win against someone who may be bidding manually against me

1) however… if someone already has placed (via regular eBay) a max bid higher than mine… these solutions do no good. I believe most people use that method (regular max bid via eBay) anyway… and I’ll NEVER know how much higher they may have been willing to go… even if I lose by only a dollar… they may have placed a much higher max bid than me

2) if someone is also using these 3rd-party automated bidding solutions… it also does no good if their bid is higher than mine

Plus… no way am I giving another piece of software my user ID and password… that’s just me

Here’s the next one I’m bidding on… already placed my max bid… (max I’m willing to pay) and eBay’s automatic bidding will keep bidding for me, if necessary, until it reaches my maximum

now it’s just wait and see if someone else is willing to pay more

I haven't bid on anything lately. I'm pretty well restricted to what I can hand fish out of the shallow end of the Bay.

Yep… I agree and believe that. Hence why I ‘set it and forget it’ …. I place my absolute highest bid long before the auction ends and eBay’s automatic bidding takes over.

Of course… if someone else is willing to pay more… I’ll lose. There is no getting around that.

I wonder who made that OP Ka-Bar razor? Doesn't look like something Canal Street would do, but Eric would know.

Outstanding 1989 Ka-Bar Union Cutlery Co. Patriotic One Hand Open Razor knife,1989. Both the Razor and Spey blade measure 2.1/2." BEAUTIFUL set of "Patriotic" themed handles.The handle material is Mother of Pearl, Polished Blue Lapis and Red Sea Coral, all excellent with silver liners between the pearl, coral and lapis. Beautiful Stainless Steel mirror finished polished blades, see image 11. The blades both retains the manufacture's edge, no blade rubs. Hardly a trace of rub on the tangs. No play or wobble in either blade and both blades center very nicely in the blade well when closed, see pictures number 8 & 9. I'd rate the pull on each blade a solid, smooth 6. Great walk and talk and solid half stops. Polished Nickel Silver hand engraver bolsters. Brass liners. Never carried or used. Hardly a trace on the tangs from opening and closing. Blades were never allowed to slam closed. Very tight, smooth and solid knife in hand. This knife is exceptionally well made from the inside out. The Knife measures 3 1/4" closed and 5 7/8" open. No Box.

I have finally learned to research the price on knives as best I can before deciding on my max bid. I see so many sell for more than the exact same knife at an online store.
