All About Pocket Knives

I suspect there are several knives (at least) that we owned in the past that we let go, sold, gave away, traded etc. and we wished we had them back. For some of those knives the ONLY way to get them back might actually be to go back in time. ... If I could turn back time... I have noticed some strange activity lately on the AAPK site; Levitating knives, apparent psychic powers, Remote Viewing and possible manipulation of space-time Very suspicious indeed!

So, if members could travel back in time,( some might already be doing this covertly ) what knives would you get back? The ones that got away. Or what would you have bought back in the day that you did not see going off the charts expensive (an arm full of Randles? A shoe box full of GECs?)?

Gerber Frisco Shiv, Buck Nighthawk, Victorinox Hunter, Victorinox West German Army issue, some Old Cutler brand folders of which I was a dealer at one time. No photos because I obviously don't have them anymore. Probably a few more that I can't think of at the time. Kick, kick, kick myself.

Oh yea, the Buck Nighthawk...a great Buck Knife! Oh, I let a few really good Bucks go over the years

I wish I still had my Victorinox Grand Prix. And the Tree Brand Canoe is a real looker!

This one for a start. Just had so much stuff needed to down size. I could list a 100 or so knives.

There are two for me.

The first is a little black slip joint that I got in about 1963 while on a camp trip with my family. Somewhere in one of my many moves for college and work, the knife went missing. Later, in another move, it turned up again...but it was unfortunately lost again, likely in my last move from college. I feel like it is around, somewhere, not far away.

The other is a Buck 110 that I bought when in Scouts in about the 1970-72 time frame from the A16 store in LA. I saved a long time for that knife and it was my Go To for years. Fast forward to about 2014, I had to park my Jeep in the driveway overnight, and that Buck was in the door holder. There was a party down the street and it looks like one of the party goers slit the soft top on the Jeep and managed to get the door open, and they grabbed the Buck. Dang. Fortunately, the seat was tilted forward and that kept them from getting more stuff. But losing that Buck knife really hurt because it had the memories of hundreds of backpacking and camping trips and trail and camp tasks completed, associated with the knife...it was a user for sure. That event changed my mind on some things, like severe penalties, long jail and prison sentences, banishment, and more for criminals....I guess being the victim of a crime can change one's mind on many things.

Oh, and the soft top was totaled by the insurance company, so a loss there of about $700 at the time....but the knife was worth far more to me (of course it was worth $39 to the insurance company).

I had a Victorinox camp knife purchased new in 1996 or 97 -- 4 inch sawblade, can opener, couple knife blades. Was so handy, I took care of it but looked new. Used it on several trips across country on the old Harley Davidson -- we would tent camp, packed lite, and used that small saw to round up firewood.

Good news is, I gave to my youngest daughter who is 10th year girlscout, always camping (winter - spring - summer - fall) and uses it the same. She's had it for 4 years now.

So, I can still see it if I want to!

I am sorry for you losing a knife with such sentimental value, however, the greater good for society would actually be a system of broad-based decriminalization and social justice reforms for affected persons that have been marginalized by a racist and male dominated society for hundreds of years.

You see the problem is simply that you are thinking in an "Old fashion way". Perhaps some time in a place where you can be "re-educated" might help you to see things in a more reasonable light.

Well when I go back in time I’m taking the lottery number history with me, and depending where I go why not get some Amazon, Microsoft and heck some Berkshire Hathaway stocks too.

I would only wish for 2 past knives: the 1st is an 8 in. Italian stiletto(my 1st) that my 9th grade home room teacher appropriated. The 2nd is a stag handled Henckels stockman that mysteriously vanished one day; never to be seen again!

ouch! ... a stag handled Henckels stockman that mysteriously vanished one day That's a bummer ... I suppose we can't rule out the cause of the disappearance as being from a Micro black hole (also called mini black holes or quantum mechanical black holes) ... Very suspicious indeed!

In addition to all the early GECs and Ivory Northwoods I sold, I weep bitter tears of regret over my most foolish idiotic unbelievable inexplicable unforgiveable ridiculous decision ever to sell this Stag Scagel
